Shannon Dubay, M.S., is Director of Panthera's Conservation Technology Program, based in Cape Town, South Africa.
Shannon first joined Panthera in 2018 as a Data Science Technician, processing camera trap data from field sites across the globe using PantheraIDS (Panthera's in-house camera trap data management software). Shannon quickly advanced within the team and later led the Data Management and Technology and Software Support teams within the Conservation Technology program.
Shannon holds a Master of Science in Conservation Biology from the University of Cape Town, where her thesis explored the behavioral and physiological responses of chacma baboons to wildfires in South Africa. She has also served as a Field Researcher with the Urban Caracal Project and the Tokai Sociality Baboon Project, among other roles across South Africa and the U.S.
As Panthera’s Conservation Technology Director, Shannon ensures that Panthera's technology tools best enable us to provide demonstrable conservation outcomes to effectively conserve the world’s wild cat species and their ecosystems.
