Chas Barnes is the lead for counter wildlife trafficking at Panthera, advising on technical matters of countering wildlife crime. With a background in the military and law enforcement and recognized by HM The Queen for outstanding services to the British Government with an award of Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE).
As part of his role at Panthera, Chas serves as the technical lead for a global initiative that aims to counter the illegal trade in wild cat products and wider efforts to disrupt wildlife crimes. A particular focus for Chas is to improve the effectiveness of Panthera, and the diverse range of partners, to conserve wildlife globally.
